“...These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also…"
Part of our mission is going out into the world with the hope of the Gospel. At Portico, we are committed to serving locally and globally through a variety of partnerships and initiatives.
Locally, we regularly serve in several ways throughout the Charlottesville community including CarePortal and Pacem. We also serve in different capacities with the Crescent Hall, Midway Manor and Kindlewood communities, Loaves and Fishes, Abundant Life Ministries, and LifeSpring Pregnancy Center. In addition to these ongoing ministries, we annually participate in Day of Healing in collaboration with other area churches and host a Coat Drive downtown in late fall. We are also invested in supporting Love Inc., Good News Prison Ministry, and several of the Christian student ministries on grounds at UVA and PVCC.
Globally, we support organizations and churches in Ireland, India, and Uganda. As we relaunch our focus on global missions, we will be engaging deeper with our partners through mission trips.
Portico Church has a family tree! Portico Church planted Portico Church Arlington in April 2010 and Portico Church Arlington planted Doxology Church in October 2019. Portico Fellowship of Churches is what we call this family tree. We mutually edify one another by sharing resources, holding joint training events, and by walking through the burdens and blessings of gospel ministry together.
