After growing up in Charlottesville, Jen attended James Madison University, majoring in Music Industry. Following graduation, she received her teaching certification in elementary education from Mary Baldwin College in 2001 and was married that May. She and her husband, Jamie, moved to Hawaii in 2002 with the Army where Jen taught fifth grade. In addition, Jen served on staff at Mililani Presbyterian Church as Director of Music. Returning to her hometown in 2005, she began attending Portico in early 2006. For two years, Jen served as Assistant to the Director of Ash Lawn Opera, assisting Portico with administrative needs periodically.

Jen began serving as Director of Administration and Communication in the fall of 2007. She assists with the administrative management of many of Portico’s ministries. In addition to her work for Portico, she enjoys serving on the worship team and on the Women’s Ministry Team. Her husband, Jamie, became an elder at Portico in the fall of 2008.

Jen and Jamie, welcomed their first daughter, Campbell, in January 2008. Her brother, David, and sister-in-law, Kendra, are also investors at Portico, where they attend with their daughter, Sophia.
