California born and bred, Justin grew up attending church with his father. When Christ grabbed hold of his of life during his junior year of high school, he quickly began serving in lay ministry in various leadership roles. He received his bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from California State University Stanislaus. Between 1999 and 2006, Justin served in both paid and volunteer staff positions in the Student Ministries Department at First Baptist Church of Modesto. CA, where he worked closely with Chris Atwell. Upon graduation, Justin served in local law enforcement until he packed up and drove cross country to serve as Pastor of Operations at Portico in spring 2007.

In 2008, Justin initiated and oversaw the contract negotiations and renovations for Portico to occupy it’s current location at 201 Monticello Avenue. Justin developed relationships and solicited contributions of materials and service from both Portico investors and community members, completing the project quickly and efficiently. In his role at Portico Justin oversees all aspects of operations, including; staff team management, finances, Portico Kids ministry, the Hospitality team, as well as helping lead the Abide worship gathering on Sunday nights.

Justin is happy to have joined his brothers and sisters in Christ at Portico.
